Per motivi di misura e sicurezza, i segnali analogici sono spesso isolati nelle installazioni industriali.
La domanda di impianti e circuiti di sicurezza è in costante aumento per motivi quali la crescente consapevolezza della sicurezza sul lavoro. Di conseguenza, sono aumentati anche i requisiti tecnici dei componenti. Tuttavia, livelli più elevati di sicurezza funzionale richiedono spesso un impegno maggiore e vanno a scapito della disponibilità. L'isolatore di segnale standard passivo P22400, presentato di recente, annulla questa situazione. Il nuovo isolatore di segnale standard passivo P22400 è in grado di risolvere questo problema, realizzando un prodotto che combina in modo unico un elevato livello di sicurezza funzionale con un'alta disponibilità, un approccio equilibrato che sarebbe difficile da ottenere altrimenti.

La funzione di sicurezza del SIL 3
P22400 è la trasmissione lineare ad alta precisione di segnali 4...20 mA, anche in configurazione monocanale. È possibile raggiungere un elevato livello di sicurezza funzionale anche in una configurazione a canale singolo e senza diagnostica. Ad esempio, i sensori e gli attuatori del circuito di sicurezza possono essere collegati direttamente e la struttura ridondante non richiede apparecchiature di valutazione sofisticate. Allo stesso tempo, il dispositivo ha un tasso di guasto totale molto basso e offre un'elevata disponibilità. Dopotutto, a cosa servirebbe se il dispositivo di sicurezza rimanesse spento (commutato in uno stato di sicurezza) e quindi spegnesse periodicamente l'impianto che deve monitorare?
